How to Improve Your Swing

A great golf back swing can take you miles ahead in performance as well as improving your putting skills. Improving your power is not that important as improving your form and distance when you want to work on this area.

How do you improve your golf swing and play better? Rely on:

Proper posture.
Get the right golfing shoes.
Focus on aligning with the ball.

Your first line of defense is to always ensure you have the right stance, which will allow you to quickly and easily perform the appropriate follow through for your swing.

Master Your Back Swing: Posture and Stance

One of the ways you can correct your posture is to have someone take a picture of your in your stance. Once you have your picture, check it against the proper stance. If this isn't a good option for you, look into some lessons. A golf pro can point out specific ways to better your posture, stance and improve your golf swing.

After rectifying your stance, you need to have a look at problems with your grip. Overextending the grip or holding the club the wrong way can result in a poor backhand right from the start.

There is no way possible to have a correct back swing if you do not grip the club appropriately. So the more you try, the more dejected you feel. Yet just a small shift in the position of your hands could completely change the picture!

If you want to improve your golf swing, before you lift the club from the ground simply pull it away from the ball. This is important if you want to improve your back swing. Lifting and pulling the club at the same is a common mistake made by most players. Not only does it jeopardize the game but it results in an off-center hit.

Make sure you're pulling the club straight back before you start lifting it up and you would notice an almost instant improvement. Your back swing will improve drastically if you make the extra effort to pull the club before lifting.
